Looking for fall date ideas? We’ve got you covered with these 15 fall date ideas that help you fall more in love!
It seems as though fall is the time everyone starts to couple up and love is in the air. Did you know that falling in love (or deeper in love) isn’t always something that just happens? A lot of it can actually be in your control.
Lena once took a psychology class on “Falling in Love” and learned there are many scientific studies that have shown increased adrenaline, dopamine, and serotonin can all lead to falling in love. There are so many date ideas that can lead to these “feelings of love!”
Whether you are just starting to date someone or in an established relationship, take advantage of the cooler (read: perfect for cuddling) weather and beautiful scenery with these cute fall date ideas that can help you fall in love whether it’s with a new person or the same person all over again.
15 Cute Fall Date Ideas To Help You Fall Deeper in Love
1. Cheer on your favorite football team
Chances are one or both of you are a football fan. One of the best ways to increase your bond is by sharing a common goal. Pick a team that you can both root for and you’ll be able to bond over games all season long. If one of you is not afootball fan have your significant other teach you all about it. As far as us, NEITHER of us are into football. Starting a fantasy league together could be a great learning and teamwork opportunity!
2. Have fall cocktail competition (or pie baking or pumpkin latte making…)
On the flip side of having a common goal another way to boost your bond is by engaging in a little friendly competition. Stay in one night, gather up all the materials you need, pick a friendly bet, and see who can make the best cocktail/pie/latte/whatever.
3. Jump in a bunch of leaves
Act like kids again and go jump in a pile of leaves! Being goofy together is a great way to bond. Doing novel and spontaneous things also lead to increased feelings of love.
4. Go for a hike or a bike ride
Take advantage of the weather not being TOO cold to be out in yet and go for a hike! Getting active is one of the best activities to do with a significant other or someone you’ve just started out dating. It increases your heart rate, physical arousal, and serotonin levels which all lead to increased feelings of love.
5. Teach each other a skill
A great way to bond is by teaching the other person something new. It’ll clue you into the other person’s interests/talents that you may not have known about and you will learn a lot about their personality from their teaching style.
6. Go apple picking
Cliché fall date idea, but it’s popular for a reason! Get some fresh air, work together to find the best apples, and run around in the picturesque environment. Make it productive by making something together after with all the apples you gather.
7. Go outdoor wine or beer tasting
Yummy and fun date that leads to lowered inhibitions, no more explanation necessary.
8. Cook dinner together
Cooking together is a great stay-at-home activity, plus encourages teamwork! You will learn a lot of about each other as you observe the other person’s working style.
9. Go for a drive without a pre-determined destination
Doing novel things increases feelings of love! Go for a daylong road trip without a pre-determined destination. You will see lots of new things that will lead to fresh conversations and you might encounter some exciting stuff along the way! Take turns directing or leave it up to a quarter: heads you turn left, tails you turn right.
10. Have a weekend retreat
Enjoy a weekend holed up together, whether at home or at a cabin somewhere. Turn off your phones, leave your laptops at home, and spend the entire weekend just with each other. Bring along lots of fun games, have lots of conversations, and get to know each other again.
11. Explore a haunted house
Literally scare yourselves into love! Serious- feeling fear produces adrenaline, which in turn increases feeling of love! If it’s too late in the season for Halloween haunted houses, try to find a “real” haunted house in your town that’s rumored to be visited by ghosts.
12. Snuggle up to a horror movie marathon
To capitalize on the theory of fear increasing love, have a horror movie marathon! Not only will you get the scary/love benefits, but snuggling also increases serotonin levels.
13. Get lost in a corn maze
Get lost in the corn maze and work together to find your way out. Teamwork, adrenaline, and novelty will all work to boost your bond. Or can you stay lost and play a game of hide-n-seek. Winner gets a kiss.
14. Go mud sliding, preferably at midnight
Take advantage of rainy weather by finding a grassy hill to slide down. Pick up some sleds or even just a big trash can lid and hold hands and you both slide down the hill! You’ll get a little muddy, but it’s all in the name of love.
15. Bundle up at the beach
Who says beach bonfires are only a summer time activity? Bundle up in some big sweaters and warm up as you snuggle by a fire. Smores anyone?
