I love using the Nordstrom sale as a way to add investment pieces to my wardrobe that I’ll wear for years. I typically order a ton of things and then return anything that I don’t absolutely love, isn’t comfortable, or great quality. After trying everything that caught my eye, these are my top picks from the 2018 Nordstrom Sale. I know these will be well worth spending my money on and I’ll get so much use out of them in the coming years.
1. Shoes
The shoe selection is always my FAVORITE part of the Nordstrom sale! I always purchase 1 or 2 new shoes that I know will last for years. I ordered a ton of shoes and am sending most back because they weren’t comfortable. Here’s what I’m keeping:
This bootie in Mushroom {repurchase, Buddy ate my old pair, ugh!} and this bootie in Cognac {new version for this year}: I absolutely love these booties! They are sooooo comfortable which makes them perfect for long days of walking. They look really nice, so they can be dressed up or down. And they are waterproof! I ALWAYS pack a bootie from this brand when I travel because they are perfect for any situation!
These over the knee boots: I have been looking for a good pair of over the knee boots forever now! They never seem to fit me right, but these were perfect! I have muscular calves, so I went for the wide calf. They slipped on easily, are so gorgeous, and so comfortable!
Here’s what I purchased last year and am still loving:
These Frye boots that get better with age: almost $200 off! These sell out quick because they are a fantastic investment piece.
Leopard mules: I bought a very similar pair by the same brand last year and initially thought it was just a trendy item. I’ve actually gotten SO much wear out of it and it surprisingly works with so many different outfits. It’s comfortable, but not something I would walk around all day in just because I don’t think mules are comfy enough for that.
Notable Mentions:
2. Purse
I love using the Nordstrom sale to add a new bag to my collection.
Last year I purchased this tote, which I use daily for work:
This year, I went for a small purse that I could carry at night:
And a fun purse to add some interest to my neutral outfits:

3. Jeans + Leggings
I am NOT a jeans girl. I’d rather wear a dress for any occasion, but there are times that I wish I had a nice pair of jeans to wear. I actually found two pairs that I loved in the sale, which was shocking to me, because I never like jeans!
This one is my absolute favorite:
These are my #2:
There are also two leggings I think are MUST BUYS from the Nordstrom sale. This casual pair for every day or working out. This pair to dress up.
4. Jacket
I never seem to have clothing for warm weather, so this year I bought a nice faux leather jacket that I can dress up or down. It fits perfectly and I love the removable hood.
5. Cashmere or other cozy cardigans
Ahhh cashmere is just the ultimate luxury. Last year, I bought this cashmere scarf that has been my ultimate for fall, winter, and travel days! It is just the most amazing, comfy thing ever!
This year, I’m lusting after this gorgeous and super soft cashmere sweater:
I also always love Barefoot Dreams, which I always say are one of the top things to buy from the Nordstrom sale. I love this cardigan because it’s nice enough to wear out, but also super cozy. I also love this one. It’s the softest sweater I’ve ever tried on, but I’m not sure if I’ll keep it because it’s a bit high of a price point, especially for such a causal sweater. If you spend a lot of time in cozies, it may be worth the splurge. Seriously feels like a dream.

6. Dress
While these dresses might not last for years, I wear dresses constantly so I always look for a new one to add to my rotation. Last year I wore my N Sale dresses DOZENS of times and they are still going strong! Here are my favorites from this year:

7. Gift ideas
I love using the Nordstrom sale as a time to stock up on gifts for the holiday season.
Last year, I gifted myself and everyone I know these super comfy and cute throw blankets:
This year, I think I’ll gift these comfy, cute and affordable PJ sets. I gifted myself 2 colors, haha
