Did you know that we are high school sweethearts? It hasn’t been an easy journey, but we wouldn’t trade it for the world because it has brought us here. Together.

One of the greatest things about being each other’s first loves is the history that we share. For almost as long as we can remember, our story has been intermingled together. It’s rare that we have an experience or memory that doesn’t involve the other in some way. That shared history gives us a special bond like nothing else can. There’s often not a lot we have to explain to each other about why we are the way we are. We already know. We were there.

Sounds like a fairy tale, but the part of fairy tales you don’t always see are the less than magical parts. Making to where we are now, definitely came with some bits and pieces that are usually left out of the Disney version of the story. You have to realize, being each other’s first loves also means that you are trying everything out for the first time. You may not get it right. You may make lots of mistakes. And we definitely made mistakes. On each other’s hearts. We left each other’s hearts slightly battered, slightly bruised, slightly shattered, but in the end, we learned, we grew, and we healed our mistakes.

Leading to where we are today. At this point, my love for you has lasted so long, that there is no beginning and no end. Love is just you. It’s not always perfect. We are not always perfect. But we love each other unconditionally and that’s the greatest kind of love there is. I trust all of my heart and all of my life with you.

This park holds very special memories for us. Bassam used to live right next to this park. He gave me the very first gift he ever gave me at this park {roberto cavalli perfume}. We had our first date at this park. We had the conversation that got us back together and on track to be together forever at this park. We’ve celebrated Valentine’s Day at this park. We take Buddy on walks at this park. We’ve taken blog photos at this park. We’ve cried at this park. We’ve laughed at this park. Eventually we will take our kids to play here. This park has seen us through all the phases and stages of our life and love together. It’s a deep part of our history.
